The right size and fit make an apron a pleasure to wear and a poorly-fitted one a constant annoyance. This guide covers everything — sizes, measuring, strap styles, and coverage — so you choose an apron that fits and works the way it should.
Apron sizes explained
Our aprons come in Small through 2XL. Size affects two things: how well the bib and length cover you, and how the straps and waist sit. Bigger isn't better — you want coverage that protects without excess material getting in your way. If you're between sizes, consider your height and the coverage your work needs.
How to measure
A quick measure takes the guesswork out of choosing a size. See our step-by-step guide to measuring for a leather apron, and check the measurements on each product against your own.
How an apron should fit
A good apron sits securely without pulling or swinging. The bib should cover your chest, the length should protect your lap and thighs without catching as you move, and the straps and waist should adjust to hold it snug. For the detail, see how an apron should fit.
Strap styles
How the apron attaches matters for comfort. Cross-back straps spread the weight across your shoulders and are the most comfortable for long wear, while a neck loop is simpler but rests the weight on your neck. We compare them in cross-back vs waist aprons.
Split-leg vs full coverage
Some trades favour a split-leg cut for mobility, others a full apron for continuous coverage. See split-leg aprons explained to decide which suits how you work.
Adjustability is everything
The best fit comes from adjustment. Fully adjustable straps and waist ties let one apron fit comfortably across a range of body types and layers — which is why all our aprons are built to adjust.
